Woodford County boy dies after drowning in lake

METAMORA – A 3-year-old boy died from drowning in a lake Monday morning in Metamora.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Luke Rynearson, of Metamora, was found around 8:10 a.m. unresponsive in a lake at the Lake Wildwind Mobile Home Park.

Harwood said Rynearson’s family reported around 7:30 a.m. they realized the boy was missing.  The family found the boy in the lake unresponsive and not breathing.

The boy was taken by ambulance to OSF Saint Francis Pediatric Emergency Department in Peoria.  He was pronounced dead at 9:52 a.m.

Harwood said an autopsy Monday afternoon didn’t indicate any sign of trauma or foul play.
