BLOOMINGTON – A high bond has been set for a Bloomington man in connection with a shooting that occurred on August 13th on the city’s southwest side.
Bloomington Police Officers responded around 2:15 p.m. to the Highland Hills Apartment complex in the 1700 block of Springfield Rd., for reports of shots fired on August 13th.
BPD learned two victims had been shot and were at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers charged Dominique Atwater, 26, of Bloomington, for aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon. Atwater remains in the McLean County jail on a $25,035 cash bond.
On Tuesday, BPD arrested Khawanus Haynes, 20, of Bloomington, for five McLean County warrants relating to attempted murder and weapon charges in the same case. Haynes’ bond has been set at $1 million, meaning he needs to post $100,035.
