ATLANTA – Helping out a local volunteer Fire Department was the goal of one organization Thursday evening.
At the Atlanta Fire Dept. Quincy Compressor donated a $3,000 Air Compressor to help firefighters respond quicker in emergencies.
“This is a program that we have been doing, we have been donating Air Compressors to volunteer fire departments,” said Jon Crow, a Service Technician with Quincy Compressor. “They can hook this up their air system here, and it will cut some response time down for them. It will be able to have their truck more at the ready. They use air breaks, and they also use airbags for the suspension and everything like that, so this will increase their response time.”

Over 21 Air compressors have been donated to volunteer Fire Depts. across the nation, but this one is special to Crow who resides in Atlanta.
“We are just trying to help out the community wherever we can,” added Crow. “It will have them (Atlanta Fire Dept.) be more ready to go at the moment when they need them.”
