BLOOMINGTON – A traffic stop stemming from a traffic violation on Interstate 74 near Bloomington resulted in a large drug bust.
On Wednesday an Illinois State Trooper from District 6 stopped a passenger vehicle after observing a traffic violation. During the stop, the trooper indicated possible criminal activity. An ISP canine alerted to the odor of illegal drugs inside the vehicle.
Officers located 143 pounds of cannabis, 14 pounds of mushrooms, and nine pounds of cannabis wax. Amber Widner, 36, of Bozeman, MT was arrested for controlled substance trafficking and cannabis trafficking. A McLean County judge set Widmer’s bond at $75,000.
Widner remains in the McLean County Jail.
