CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla.- A local resident is sitting in with the NASA social media team for a Wednesday launch in Florida.
Chad Colby of Goodfield is at Cape Canaveral for the early Tuesday morning launch of a Falcon 9 rocket for the Space X resupply mission for the International Space Station. From the Cape Canaveral launch pad, Colby said his visit has been a long time coming.
“For about the last 10 years NASA has opened it up to the public that if you’re involved in social media in any form they’ve invited people in via application process to come down and experience the launch,” Colby told WJBC’s Marc Strauss. “I’ve tried repeatedly–I’m embarrassed to say how many times–but the geek in me did not stop and I finally got selected. It’s a big thrill.”
Colby plans to share his photos and behind-the-scenes stories on Twitter @TheChadColby and on his website, ColbyAgTech.com.
