BLOOMINGTON – The defense in the Kirk Zimmerman murder trial is continuing to use testimony from prosecution witnesses to show that Bloomington Police did not adequately weed out all possible suspects before focusing on Zimmerman as the alleged killer.
Zimmerman is accused of shooting and killing his ex-wife Pam Zimmerman in November 2014.
Eldon Whitlow is believed to be the last person who saw Pam alive as he had an appointment in her office the day she was killed.
Whitlow’s girlfriend, Cheryl Morr, took the stand Tuesday and said police did not reach out to her until January of 2015, two months after the killing.
Whitlow’s friend, Sheila Zunker, also testified and said BPD never asked her to come in for questioning. Although, Zunker said she received one phone call from authorities.
The night of the murder Whitlow told police he did chores at a friends home, visited a woman’s house, had dinner and did light construction before going to another woman’s home to sleep.
