Dozen jurors picked to hear Zimmerman murder trial

BLOOMINGTON – It took just two days for prosecutors and the defense to pick the 12 jurors in Kirk Zimmerman’s McLean County murder trial.

Four people were chosen Monday and eight more were selected Tuesday.

Ten of the 12 jurors are men. Lawyers will choose four more people who will serve as alternate or back-up jurors.

Zimmerman is charged with the November 2014 shooting death of his former wife, Pamela Zimmerman, at her east side Bloomington office.

The trial is expected to last 4-6 weeks, with opening statements set for Monday.
