CLINTON – Goodwill has announced it will open its 15th retail location in central Illinois.

The Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries said Monday it will open a new store in Clinton sometime in the late-spring or early summer of 2019.

The Clinton Goodwill will provide both new and gently worn clothing for men, women, teens and children in addition to house wares, shoes, accessories, jewelry, small appliances and a special boutique section. It will also serve as a donation drop-off point.

“We’re very excited about expanding into Clinton,” said Sharon Durbin, Goodwill CEO in a release. “Clinton is a wonderful community and we expect our retail store to provide great values for local residents while also providing them an opportunity to donate used items that directly help us provide career training and employment opportunities locally.”

The newest location will be situated in the Clinton Plaza and is 78,000 square feet.

Goodwill has a store in Normal located at 302 Landmark Drive.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
