Coroner has identified third victim in I-39 crash near Hudson

BLOOMINGTON – Authorities are releasing the name of a third person killed three months ago in a fiery crash between two semi-trailer trucks just north of the Twin-Cities.

The accident happened during the early morning hours of Sept. 19 on Interstate 39 near Hudson.

McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis Thursday identified the third victim as 31-year old Aleksandar Sakovski of Brookfield.  The coroner waited until now to release his name until she received scientific confirmation of Sakovski’s identity.

Also killed in the crash was 32-year old Mladen Petrovic, also from Brookfield, and 43-year old Guy Favorite IV, from St. Charles, Missouri.

Davis said Illinois State Police are still investigating the accident.
