BLOOMINGTON – A third Bloomington City council member is not seeking reelection.
Ward 4 Alderman Amelia Buragas announced Monday she won’t run for a second term. Buragas makes the announcement on the final day for candidates to file petitions with the city.

Buragas has given support to Julie Emig in Ward 4, an instructional assistant professor at Illinois State University, who filed her petition Monday. Emig joins insurance broker Don “Chip” Frank on the ballot.
Other incumbents not seeking re-election include David Sage in Ward 2 and Diana Hauman in Ward 8.
The only incumbent up for reelection is in Ward 6, as senior council member Karen Schmidt filed Monday. She joins Jenn Carrillo on the ballot.
As of Monday afternoon, eight people have filed petitions in Bloomington.
The deadline for candidates to file in both Bloomington and Normal is Monday at 5 p.m.
