Washington woman drowns after car enters Evergreen Lake

HUDSON – McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis says a woman drowned when her car entered Evergreen Lake late Friday night.

The coroner identifies the victim as Deena Rogers, 71, of Washington, Illinois. Davis says Rogers was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Rogers was pronounced dead at about 11:30 Friday night, less than an hour after first responders received the initial call of the vehicle in the water at the west boat launch at Comlara Park. Already on scene were McLean County sheriff’s deputies, Hudson Dive Team, Hudson Fire Department, Hudson Ambulance Service, Illinois State Police, Danvers police and Carlock firefighters.

The coroner says toxicology results are pending.
