MORTON – A Morton trucking firm said one of its employees was the man killed late Thursday afternoon when a semi overturned at the I-74/I-155 interchange near Morton.
Tazewell County Coroner Brian Foley identified the driver as Jason York, 46, of Washington. Foley said preliminary autopsy results show York died from head injuries.
Air-Land Transport Service said on its Facebook page that York was dedicated and hard-working, and made many friends during the short time he was with the company.
The crash happened about 4 p.m. Thursday on the ramp to get on southbound I-155, from westbound I-74. The ramp re-opened this (Friday) morning after Illinois State Police blocked traffic there for about 14 1/2 hours.
