BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington Public Works Department has changed the traffic control at the Front and Center intersection from traffic signals to stop signs as of today.
The change comes in advance of the signals being deactivated and also for significant curb and sidewalk removal and replacement beginning next week on Sept. 24.
The traffic signals at Front and Main will be deactivated at a later date as construction progresses. Construction is expected to last for the next several months. Drivers are requested to use caution when traveling through this area for the safety of the construction workers as well as themselves.
In conjunction with the street construction, Connect Transit will relocate the downtown bus transfer area from Front Street to Roosevelt Street between Front Street and Washington Street starting Sept. 20.
