New college and career planning tool available to Illinois families

SPRINGFIELD – Students and parents now have access to a new college and career planning tool from the state.

The Illinois College 2 Career website lets families plug in the type of school and field of study, and then lays out tuition costs, student debt and potential earnings.

“It also is able to look at the area of instruction for career industries.  So if a student wanted to have a particular job, what they know from this tool is what area of study to enter,” Illinois Community College Board Executive director Karen Hunter Anderson said.

The website is ILcollege2career.com.
