NORMAL – Illinois State University Police have issued their first crime advisory of the new school year, informing the campus about a robbery and beating that happened Thursday afternoon on the Constitution Trail.
Normal Police are investigating the crime that happened about 2 p.m. near the 400 block of East Vernon Avenue in Normal. Police say a man in his 20’s, who’s not believed to be an ISU student, was allegedly approached from behind by two black men and was hit in the face with an unknown blunt object.
The attackers reportedly ran off after stealing the man’s wallet.
Police said the victim was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, but he apparently did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
