FARMER CITY– A new police chief will be taking the reigns in Farmer City in September.
Current chief Terry Scott submitted his resignation August 14 as he moves on to become the Executive Director of the Danville Public Building Commission.
Scott has been chief since February 2017 when he took over for Chief Andrew Denno.
During his tenure Scott oversaw many changes including increased training opportunities for the officers and improved relationships with other regional organizations and an aggressive and successful code enforcement program.
The City plans on having an interim chief fill Scott’s shoes while they go through a formal recruitment process.
