BLOOMINGTON – A half-dozen years have passed since a homeless man was found dead under the Center Street Bridge, just south of Downtown Bloomington, and police say they’re still actively pursuing leads in the case.

Bloomington Police issued a news release Thursday, marking six years since the murder of Robert Jeronimus, who was 48.

Similar to the news release issued a year ago, police are not revealing how Jeronimus died. Investigators are again asking for more information about the days and hours before his death on August 16, 2012. Jeronimus was last seen alive earlier that day.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bloomington Detective Steve Fanelli at (309) 434-2457 or [email protected].

Anonymous tips are accepted by McLean County Crime Stoppers. They can be reached at 309-828-1111. Rewards of up to $1,000 are offered for information leading to arrests and indictments.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
