Police investigating West Washington Street gunfire reports

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police are investigating a report of gun shots that reportedly occurred Sunday evening on the city’s west side.

Bloomington Police officers were called to the 800 block of West Washington Street shortly before 6 p.m. following reports of gun shots. Upon arrival, officers spoke to a witness who reported hearing gun shots and saw a black teen holding a handgun while running west from the area. Another witness reported hearing several gun shots and saw a black teenager enter a burgundy sedan before speeding away from the area.

No injuries were reported. Officers searched the area but no evidence of a shooting was found.

The suspect was described to officers as between 15-16 years old with a mustache and long-braided hair.
