Bloomington, Normal set holiday, summer public works schedule

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Public Works crews will collect household garbage and recycling on Memorial Day, while Normal will collect all trash and recycling materials except bulk waste, landscape waste and brush on Monday.

Those materials will be collected later in the week as weather and schedules permit.

Bloomington’s drop-off facility will be closed Monday, but beginning May 29, the facility will change to summer hours; 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Normal’s public works crews will begin working summer hours from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting Monday.

Normal’s self-service electronics recycling hours for McLean County residents will change to 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, starting Tuesday through Aug. 21. Electronics recycling will not be available on Memorial Day. Electronics recycling is also available the 1st Saturday of each month, except holidays, from 8 a.m. to noon.
