Four Twin Cities eyecare practices, eyewear boutique to merge in new facility

BLOOMINGTON – Four Twin Cities eyecare practices and an eyewear boutique have announced plans to merge into a single business in a new facility on Bloomington’s east side.

Eye Surgical Associates, McLean County Eye Center, Central Illinois Eye Care and Eyecare Associates along with Specs Around Town announced plans to combine operations in a new 27,000-square-foot building at Airport Road and Cornelius Drive, just south of Central Catholic High School and McGraw Park. Construction is expected to begin later this year and be completed by the end of 2019.

The four practices employ a total of three opthalmolologists, nine optometrists and about 90 staff members. The release says all current doctors plan to stay with the new operation with approximately the same amount of staff.

The release says the name of the new business will be revealed later.
