BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL – Police in Bloomington and Normal were focused on distracted drivers last month, issuing nearly 660 tickets during a two-week enforcement period.
Normal Police report writing 227 tickets during the increased enforcement period in the last two weeks of April. Nearly 200 of the citations were for using an electronic communications device.
Bloomington Police said their officers issued 430 citations during the period, with 228 specifically for using an electronic device.
