NORMAL – The Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council has named vice president Mike O’Grady as the organization’s interim CEO.
O’Grady will fill the position of Kyle Ham, who is leaving the EDC in two weeks to become a vice president of client services for Core Construction of Morton. EDC spokesman Zach Dietmeier explained O’Grady’s career experience will serve him well as he fills the position.
“He has such a vast community knowledge, having been involved on the local, state, and national political scenes for the better part of 40 years,” said Dietmeier.
O’Grady will take over as interim CEO on April 30, three days after Ham departs for his new position. Dietmeier said the board hasn’t made any decisions on who may fill the permanent seat.
“Mike is here to help fill that void and we’ll see what the board’s ultimate decisions are,” Dietmeier said.
Dietmeier noted it’s hard to say what the next CEO will look like, but the board will likely pick someone based on their communication and negotiation skills.
