
Irene Donhardt
NORMAL – Irene M. Donhardt, 95, of Normal, passed away at 10:15 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Rev. Dan Busse and Rev. Ed Wright officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Evergreen Village or Heartland Healthcare’s Legacy Unit.
Irene was born July 26, 1922 in Quincy, the daughter of George and Lillian Niehaus Slater. She married Bernard Donhardt on April 15, 1946. He died on September 27, 2007.
Survivors include three children, Gary Donhardt of Collierville, TN, Pat (Mike) Kirk of Bloomington and Ron (Jan) Donhardt of Normal; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a brother, William (Helen) Slater of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by one brother, five sisters and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Donhardt.
In her early years, Irene was somewhat of a tomboy and played many sports including soccer, fast pitch softball and basketball. Her claim to fame was her homemade pies. Irene enjoyed gardening, cross stitch, drawing, writing in her journal, singing and dancing. She was very light hearted and had a great sense of humor.
The two most important things in Irene’s life were her family and God. She will be dearly missed.

Charles Wilkinson
BLOOMINGTON – Charles J. Wilkinson, 67, of Bloomington, passed away at 4:40 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2018 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home
Charles was born March 8, 1951 in Kewanee, the son of Charles and Margaret Ann Hughes Wilkinson. He married Sandy Thoennes on September 9, 1972 in Normal. She survives.
He is also survived by his children, Kim (Danny) Mattocks of Bloomington and Ann (Dale) Gresham of Normal; 5 grandchildren, Danny (Tabitha) Mattocks, Jr, Ryan Mattocks, Sr, Brandon (Lindzy McCarrey) Mattocks and Kristi and DJ Gresham; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marilyn (Randy) Cook of Bloomington and a brother, Minott (Donna) Wilkinson of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Wilkinson and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte who’s nickname was “Charlie” after her great-grandfather.
Charles graduated from Normal Community High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Army. He walked point during the war and was exposed to Agent Orange. Charles was a member of Bricklayers Local #6 and was very proud of the work he did in his community.
