BLOOMINGTON – A longtime executive director of LIFE Center for Independent Living is retiring.
65-year-old Gail Kear is ready to pursue warmer weather and her hobbies after almost 22 years working at the Center. Kear said there are many things she’s going to miss, including all the co-workers she considers a second family.
“I will miss the understanding that you see in people’s eyes when they learn about what their rights are, and how to advocate for their own rights,” Kear explained.
Kear’s last day at the Center will be April 27. She and her husband will move to Florida to enjoy retirement. The Center plans to release the name of their new executive director next week.
Currently, the Center is preparing to host the tenth annual wheelchair basketball game on April 7 at Kingsley Junior High.
