Illinois State graduate programs improve in national rankings

NORMAL – Illinois State University has moved up in the rankings for the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Graduate Schools rankings.

ISU’s College of Education jumped 12 spots to 108th out of 1,970 graduate programs in the United States. It’s College of Business part-time MBA program jumped 51 spots to 92nd in this year’s survey.

Mennonite College of Nursing’s master’s degree program ranked 98th in the U.S. News & World Report 2019 Best Graduate Schools Master’s rankings in nursing, compared to 115th in last year’s rankings.

“These rankings are a testament to the excellent education being provided by our dedicated faculty,” said ISU Vice President and Provost Jan Murphy. “They are also a validation that Illinois State University continues to be a higher education leader in the United States.”

U.S. News ranks programs based on expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research, and students. The data come from statistical surveys sent to administrators at more than 1,970 graduate programs and from reputation surveys sent to more than 16,500 academics and professionals in the disciplines.
