The first woman to hold the title of city manager in Normal will make $185,000 a year, according to a contract to be considered by the town council Monday night.
Pamela Reece, who’s served as assistant city manager under the retiring Mark Peterson, takes over at the end of the month.
Peterson, only the second city manager in Normal’s history, was making $189,000 a year.
The contract also calls for Reece to receive a monthly car allowance of $650.
The agreement lasts for three years, and it can be extended annually after a favorable performance evaluation by the council.
Reece’s appointment after a national search was announced January 23, but the town government did not reveal her salary at the time.
