Heartland Community College increased its tuition starting with the upcoming summer semester.
The tuition is rising to $153 per credit hour, an increase of $5.
The president of Heartland Community College, Rob Widmer, says the college wanted to honor the students’ request for a modest and infrequent tuition increase.
“After talking with the students, we’re always concerned about tuition increases and being very conscience of affordability and accessibility for students,” Widmer said. “We never take it lightly.”
Widmer also said due to limited state resources, student tuition and fees are some of the few resources the college can influence.
