PONTIAC – A Pontiac woman was injured when her car struck a Livingston County sheriff’s vehicle responding to an emergency call Sunday afternoon in Pontiac.
State police reported Cheryl Day, 55, was southbound on Main Street at Howard Street when the eastbound squad struck her vehicle. The report says the marked squad had emergency lights and siren activated.
The report indicated Day was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Her condition is not available. State police did not release the officer’s name, but said the officer was hospitalized.
Day was ticketed for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle and operating an uninsured vehicle.
