BLOOMINGTON – Authorities believe they’ve solved a shooting that happened just before Christmas on Bloomington’s east side.
Bloomington Police say the department’s Street Crime Division, aided by a police dog, and the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Willie Dawson, 33, Friday in the 300 block of S. Western Ave.
The Bloomington man is accused of shooting a handgun towards a group of people in the 1900 block of Peach St. on December 23.
Police say Dawson faces multiple counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm in an occupied vehicle and several other weapons charges related to a prior felony conviction.
A McLean County Jail officer says Dawson is required to post a $40,750 cash bond to be released while he awaits trial.
