WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood has received an appointment to the powerful House Ways and Means Committee.
The Peoria Republican fills a vacancy created by the pending resignation of an Ohio congressman. The House Republican Steering Committee selected LaHood for the opening.
The Ways and Means Committee is the chief tax-writing committee in the House with jurisdiction over taxation, trade and tariffs and other revenue-related items.
With the appointment, LaHood with relinquish his current appointments on the natural resources and science, space and technology committees.
