Coroner identifies woman killed in Clinton house fire

CLINTON – The DeWitt County Coroner has identified the Clinton woman who was killed during a house fire Tuesday night.

Randy Rice said Evelyn Eaton, 87, was inside when her house caught fire around 9:30 p.m.

Eaton was pronounced dead just before 11 p.m. in the emergency room of John Warner Hospital and Health Services in Clinton.

The coroner’s office and the State Fire Marshal are still investigating the incident.
