PONTIAC – The Livingston County Service Extension of the Salvation Army is incredibly busy around Thanksgiving and Holiday dates, and they are always looking for volunteers.
Director Linda Voorheis describes instances where a lack of volunteers can shorten business hours and change donation opportunities.
“You can donate the Salvation army, providing the sign is not out, that we’re not taking donations. We sometimes get overwhelmed. Overwhelmed can be good, but when it reaches the ceiling in the back room, we have to stop for a while so we can get caught up,” said Voorheis.
For more information or to volunteer, visit Voorheis at the Salvation Army, located at 112 N. Division Street in Pontiac.
