Fairbury man dies in Livingston County crash

PONTIAC – A Fairbury man was killed in a crash between his car and a semi-tractor trailer on Illinois Route 47, south of Dwight.

The name of the victim, who was 59, has not been released. Livingston County Coroner Danny Watson said the man’s car, moving southbound, crossed the center line and collided with the northbound semi at about six o’clock Thursday night.

The coroner pronounced him dead at the scene. The semi driver was not hurt.

The coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police, and the state’s crash reconstruction team are investigating.
