BLOOMINGTON – Several flights have been canceled at Central Illinois Regional Airport due to a power failure that shut down all air travel at one of the world’s busiest airports.
Travel woes are expected to go on for days after the 11-hour power outage at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where more than 1,000 flights were grounded.
According to CIRA’s website, Monday’s 11:30 a.m. outbound flight to Atlanta in canceled, but the scheduled 5:16 p.m. departure remains on schedule as of early Monday morning. The scheduled 10:55 a.m. arrival has been canceled while inbound flights scheduled for 4:40 and 10:20 p.m. remain on schedule.
Airport officials recommend passengers check the status of their flight before traveling to the airport.
