BLOOMINGTON – Home Sweet Home Ministries is encouraging the community to experience homelessness first hand.
Night in a Car will take place on Friday, Feb. 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 801 S. Madison St., Bloomington.
Night In A Car is a homeless simulation in which participants will live out of their cars during the overnight hours. They will be able to come inside for hot beverages, snacks and educational sessions throughout the evening. Home Sweet Home is actively seeking participants to sign up for the challenge to raise $1,000 per car.
Home Sweet Home Ministries has launched a campaign on CrowdRise for anyone interested in participating in the event.
“We are challenging the community to help us raise $30,000 this year, which will help to support Home Sweet Home’s services to the homeless population,” says Mary Ann Pullin, Home Sweet Home Ministries’ CEO. “We’re encouraging everyone including families, churches, youth groups, and local leaders to get involved.”
