BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington firefighters braved freezing temperatures to put out a fire that destroyed a garage in an east side neighborhood late Thursday night.
The fire department was called about 11:30 p.m. to the 1200 block of Dogwood Lane.
Batallion Chief Jeff Flairty said firefighters saw flames inside and outside of the garage.
“The garage was detached from the home. No damage to the home at this time, and we were able to get a quick knock on the fire in the garage and prevent any damage to the house,” said Flairty.
While the garage and its contents were a total loss, Flairty said there was no vehicle inside. No one was hurt, and investigators have not determined a cause.
