Bloomington Police investigate apparent stabbing death

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police are investigating an apparent stabbing that took place in the Cardinal Ridge mobile home park this afternoon.

Officers reportedly received a call shortly after 1 p.m. that an unidentified victim was brought into St. Joseph’s Medical Center with what appeared to be a stab wound to the chest. The victim succumbed to the injury was pronounced dead by the McLean County Coroner’s Office.

No other details about the victim have been released at this time. In a media release, police explained “numerous person(s) have, and are still being interviewed.”

BPD and the Coroner’s office are investigating the incident. Police said there is no known threat to the public, as the stabbing is believed to be an isolated incident. Officers determined the death may have stemmed from an incident that occurred on 23rd Street in Bloomington.
