Man’s body discovered in Kickapoo Creek

DOWNS – The body of a man was found this afternoon in Kickapoo Creek near Route 150 and the village of Downs.

In a news release, McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis said her office was informed about the body shortly after 1:30 p.m. The 53-year-old man was pronounced deceased around 3 p.m. with the McLean County Sheriff’s Department, Downs Fire and Ambulance, and the Hudson Dive Team on scene. The name of the man is being withheld pending family notification.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place sometime tomorrow.

There has been no evidence of foul play and the incident remains under investigation.
