Man killed in SUV crash near Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis said a 45-year-old man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 south of Bloomington on Monday night.

The coroner was called to an SUV rollover crash on I-55 northbound one mile south of Veterans Parkway at 11:10 p.m. The driver was the only person in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name hasn’t been released pending notification of family.

The Bloomington Fire Department, Bloomington Township Fire and EMS, the McLean County Sheriff’s Department, and the Illinois State Police were already on scene.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. Davis says the incident remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
