RURAL CARLOCK – A Bloomington man is dead after the utility tractor he was using to apparently clear some brush rolled down a ravine in rural Woodford County, near Carlock.

Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman said Galyn Sweet, 64, was working Monday night near a cabin he owns in Kansas Township, and his wife called a friend when Sweet didn’t return home.

Ruestman said Sweet’s friend found him Tuesday morning, and called police.

Ruestman is planning an autopsy for Wednesday. The coroner’s office and the Woodford County Sheriff’s Police are investigating.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
