SPRINGFIELD – The governor returned from an overseas trip that took him to Japan and China to reinforce trade relationships and to build new ones.
Governor Bruce Rauner says today that he didn’t want to travel overseas until the state had a budget. Rauner says though he heard plenty about Illinois troubles but there are companies that are looking to the bright spots that Illinois has to offer.
“The good news is, there are some companies that will take a long-term view,” the governor said upon his return. “Their view is, ‘Well, you’re working on solving those problems, Governor, we like your view, we like your attitude and we like what you’re trying to do, and we’re willing to make a bet that in the long run, Illinois is the right place.'”
Governor Rauner said he touted the benefits of the state’s transportation network.
