NORMAL – A man’s body was found in a creek late Wednesday afternoon along the Constitution Trail on Normal’s east side, and police are asking for the public’s help to figure out the circumstances that led to the man’s death.
Normal Police were called just after four o’clock to the three-hundred block of South Veterans Parkway. The body was discovered in the creek just west of the Veterans Parkway bridge.
The man’s name is not being released while the McLean County Coroner’s office notifies his family. There will be an autopsy, and investigators have yet to reveal how the man died or whether they believe foul play was involved.
Police Chief Rick Bleichner said a preliminary investigation leads authorities to believe the death happened sometime during the past three days. So, anyone who traveled through the area, including Constitution Trail, and believes they may have information is asked to call Detective Brad Park at 309-454-9527, or contact Park by email at [email protected].
Information can also be phoned into McLean County Crime Stoppers at 309-828-1111.
