BLOOMINGTON – United Way of McLean County has launched a new digital marketing effort to reach out to donors.

180United highlights local needs and stories to stress the importance of local donations to local issues, such as young mothers who have run away or been forced out of their homes.

State Farm and Cargill began matching employee gifts programs last year. A decrease of $1.5 million in employee contributions and matching gifts led to an 87-percent loss in contributions from those organizations to United Way in the past year.

United Way continues to see support from organizations such as OSF St. Joseph and Advocate BroMenn.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
