BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man who authorities say has a history of committing crimes after persuading judges to reduce his bail will now have to come up with $250,000 bond to be released after allegedly selling cocaine.
Bloomington Police have yet to release information about the latest accusations against 37-year old Antonio Sullivan.
The McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged him with selling cocaine to the police department’s vice unit within a thousand feet of a church last Friday and a second drug deal within a thousand feet of a park on Tuesday.
The drug delivery charges are Class X felonies, with a prison sentence of up to 30 years if Sullivan is convicted.
Sullivan was on parole after his release from prison for aggravated robbery, and was charged in January with felony theft.
Court records indicate Sullivan’s initial bond in the theft case was $30,000, lowered to $10,000 and then to $2,000. Court documents said Sullivan posted that lower bond, but didn’t show up in court for an August hearing.
Authorities said Sullivan’s bond was reset to $10,000 for failing to appear in court, but a judge soon permitted him to be released on his own recognizance without paying cash.
Now, Sullivan is jailed after the undercover drug investigation.
