BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man faces jail time stemming from a grocery store robbery last November.
Devan Maurer, 22, reached an agreement on Wednesday in which he pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated robbery charges. He was sentenced to six months in jail and three years probation.
Maurer was armed with a handgun when he approached an employee outside Pop’s Grocery at 918 W. Market St. in Bloomington, and demanded money. Maurer reportedly fled after a scuffle with an employee who knew him as a regular customer.
