PEORIA – Federal prosecutors are denying claims they improperly investigated former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock’s sexuality as they probed allegations he used his office and campaign funds for personal profit.
Defense attorneys for Schock said the inquiries into his personal life amount to misconduct and say the case should be thrown out. The prosecution said it needed to establish the nature of his relationship with a Panamanian diplomat.
