ISU enrollment down slightly, graduate students at three-year high

NORMAL – Total enrollment at Illinois State University for the fall term is down slightly, although the number of graduate students is at a three-year high.

ISU released its official fall 2017 numbers today, computed after the 10th day of classes. Total enrollment is down 1.2 percent to 20,784 students, a drop of 255. The undergraduate enrollment is 18,330, down 313 students or 1.7 percent. That’s somewhat offset by 58 more graduate students on campus for a total of 2,454, an increase of 2.4 percent and the largest graduate student enrollment in three years.

The university reports a freshman class of 3,352, down 342 from last fall. New transfers total 1,810 compared to 2,049 last year.
