TAYLORVILLE – A man from Normal has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty in the car crash deaths of a woman and her unborn child.
Lance Pitsch, 28, pleaded guilty in June in Christian County court to felony drunk driving and reckless homicide. He was sentenced Tuesday.
Police say Pitsch was driving north on State Route 48 last October when he turned into the southbound lanes and struck a vehicle carrying Jessica Tyson Ragan and her fiancé.
Ragan and her fiancé were reportedly on their way to paint the nursery at their new home in Morrisonville when the accident occurred. Ragan also had a young daughter from a prior relationship.
