BLOOMINGTON – A new billboard in Bloomington is urging voters to hold the area’s republican lawmakers accountable.
The group, Indivisible Illinois, unveiled the digital sign Tuesday in front of a group of activists holding signs in support of Obamacare. The billboard refers to congressmen Darin LaHood and Rodney Davis saying, “They voted to take away our health care. Let’s hold them accountable.”
“Just to remind them of just what they did and we are not going to let them forget on healthcare on well Because this is an issue that affects so many Americans, so many Illinoisans,” said Sharon Chung, with Bloomington-Normal’s Action for a Better Tomorrow.
Junius Rodriguez, a democrat who is looking to unseat LaHood in 2018 said he thinks people are ready for a change.
“We are witnessing a movement right now where ordinary citizens realize that every single vote that our congressmen cast, it matters in the long run,” Rodriguez said.
The group is urging people to call the congressmen about health care and other issues and, when the time comes, to vote them out.
The billboard will run for at least four weeks.
