Defendants plead not guilty in Funks Grove murder case

NORMAL – The two defendants charged with the murder an East Peoria woman in July pleaded not guilty in the McLean County Circuit Court on Friday.

Matthew Isabell, 20, of Marquette Heights and Christine Roush, 22, of Washington face murder charges in connection with the death of Teresa Ann Poehlman, Roush’s mother. Poehlman’s body was found in the Funks Grove Nature Preserve on July 2.

Authorities are still looking for a potential third suspect.

The defendants will return to court on September 5 for their respective status hearings.
